Who is mr miyagi

He spent almost a decade of his life in a TB ward called the Weimar Institute, often immobilized and encased in a full-body cast. Eventually, Morita was transferred to San Francisco's Shriners Hospital and was given the opportunity to go through an experimental bone graft treatment that allowed his spine to fuse. The treatment worked, and Morita was eventually able to defy grim expectations and overcome the worst-case scenarios for his disease.

Morita wasn't just confined to a bed for almost a decade of his childhood -— he was often totally immobilized in a full-body cast that ran from neck to thigh. Because of this, he spent much of his time staring at the ceiling, trying to come up with ways to keep himself entertained.

This is where Morita developed his sense of humor and comedic timing. Morita recalled that his time spent at the Weimar Institute was emotionally and mentally taxing, so he "had to find things to laugh at. He later said, "If it wasn't for my disease, I wouldn't be here today. When Morita was released from the hospital with his disease in check, he was reunited with his family. Unfortunately, the year was , and Morita's family were Japanese immigrants. Morita was glad to be back with his family, but he was also too young to understand why they were being held.

He recalled crying for days because he missed the care and compassion he was shown by members of the hospital staff. Morita's anger grew as he got older and began to comprehend the truth of the way his family was treated. In an interview with the Television Academy later in his life, he said, "Uncle Sam and we Americans like to use euphemistic words or invent words if we think certain other words are too harsh.

So they called them 'relocation centers,' but they were America's version of concentration camps. After the war ended, Morita's family opened a restaurant in Sacramento, where Morita would help out. Sadly, his father was killed in a hit-and-run accident in , which eventually forced Morita to take on an office job to help support his family.

After years of this work, he decided he needed to make a change. Remarkably, Morita's sense of humor had remained intact through all this tragedy. He took on "Pat Morita" as a stage name and started working as a stand-up comedian. Miyagi's father then passes away. One day while Mr. Miyagi is teaching Daniel at his house, Terry shows up and gives a both Mr. Miyagi and Daniel a fake apology over Kreese's behavior after the All Valley tournament, as well as lies to them about Kreese dying as a result of losing his students in order to gain their sympathy.

Unaware that Terry is lying, Mr. Miyagi and Daniel accept his apology and apologize for what happened to Kreese. When Daniel decides not to participate in the tournament, he goes to Cobra Kai to tell Terry he does not want to compete, only for Terry to reveal his true motives. Mike and then Kreese appear where the former attacks and beats up Daniel.

Miyagi left his house to Daniel, as Daniel now owns the property. The Okinawan was the proud owner of a Chevrolet pickup truck, a blue and white Nash Metropolitan, a yellow Ford Super Deluxe convertible, a Cadillac sedan, and a Pontiac woodie wagon. It's unclear just how he came to have such an impressive collection "Hey, where did these cars come from? Miyagi decided to show LaRusso how to defend himself after he had to step in and save him from some Cobra Kai thugs, though the American teen was initially wary of the old man's methods. After all, he had Daniel-san tend to his cars giving birth to one of the most iconic lines in the whole Karate Kid franchise: "Wax on, wax off" and do all manner of chores that appeared to have very little to do with karate.

When Miyagi suddenly attacked his student, however, LaRusso discovered that he now had the strength, moves, and reflexes to repel him, all thanks to Miyagi's unique training methods. When Miyagi received a letter informing him that his father was dying, he decided it was time to return to Okinawa. Upon their arrival, Miyagi and his student were greeted by a young man named Chozen Toguchi Yuji Okumoto , who turned out to be Sato's nephew Still sore about the whole Yukie thing, Sato taunted Miyagi in the hope of finally getting his big showdown.

He told Miyagi that facing him was the only way to restore his honor, though before any punches could be thrown, there was some sad news. Miyagi's father passed away, and out of respect for his old sensei, Sato agreed to delay the fight. Meanwhile, Yukie revealed that, out of respect for Miyagi and his gesture, she never married anyone.
